Stage Manager(s)

​

Job description: Temporary, part-time positions for several productions and events. Currently hiring for three touring TYA productions (may be the same person), a new work production set to begin asap, single evening events throughout the year, and one stage manager for an upcoming community devised performance.

 

Desired Qualities in Candidates:

  • Personal beliefs that connect with the mission of the Fuse.

  • Collaborative company member, willing to learn and create together.

  • Creative thinker and solution maker

  • Desire to make theatre that matters in the daily lives of our community.

 

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of theatre for site specific and touring productions

  • High level organizational skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Innovative thinker

  • Technical knowledge for virtual events/meetings/rehearsals.

  • Knowledge of google drive.

  • Multilingual skills are a plus.

  • Training in equity, diversity and inclusion is a plus.

  • Fuse is dedicated to maintaining a high degree of diversity in our company. Be prepared to answer how you feel you bring diversity to the company.

 

General Duties:

  • Work with Director and/or Program Coordinator to facilitate performance/event technical needs

  • Direct load in and load out operations - technical equipment, props/costumes as needed.

  • Support in person rehearsals - notes, communication and director support

  • Create project communications for all artists

  • Communicate with venue operators

  • Log rehearsal and performance reports

  • Mentor production assistant intern and assign duties as needed for production/event

Production Assistant Intern​

  • Desire to learn theatre skills

  • Working computer knowledge - google drive, trello, whats app a plus

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong communication skills 

  • Detail oriented

  • Innovative thinker

  • Technical knowledge for virtual events/meetings/rehearsals.

  • Multilingual skills are a plus.

  • Must have transportation to rehearsal and performance venues.

  • Stage management - communication/organization

  • Marketing and communication in a theatre setting

  • Theatre production and touring

  • Technical knowledge for virtual events/meetings/rehearsals. 

 

Pay:

Total stipend depending on project and number of performances and rehearsals.  Approximately $15/hr.

Board of Directors

Fuse Theatre is currently accepting inquiries from community members interested in joining our Board of Directors. Fuse is a nonprofit (501c3) organization that focuses on theatre for social justice. Much of our work is for youth and families. Our goal is to work with and in communities through the art of theatre-making. We take pride in making theatre accessible for all audiences.  

 

We are a project-based company that pays all of our artists. Our board members have a strong desire to support the powerful experiences that theatre gives the communities and the importance of making theatre. Specifically we are interested in recruiting new members who have background in legal advising, and/or fundraising/development.

Preferred qualifications for ideal candidates:

  • A passion for theatre, equity, and/or social justice.

  • Professional experience in business, theatre, government, law, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector.

  • A natural affinity for cultivating relationships among diverse individuals.

  • Personal qualities of integrity and credibility.

Volunteer Opportunities

As a nonprofit theatre company, Fuse Theatre relies on donations and volunteers to help develop and produce our projects. We appreciate any time and effort that you’re willing to contribute - be that behind the scenes or in front, creative or administrative functions, or working with community partners. We could use assistance with Volunteer Roles such as:

  • Production Assistant – for various projects

  • Outreach Coordinator – working as a liaison with partnering organizations

  • Graphic Designer – for promotional materials for events

  • Photographer – for projects and web

  • Film Editor – for promotion videos

  • Grant Writer

  • Fundraising Event Planner and Coordinator

  • Web Designer – HTML, Graphics

  • Social Media – Planning, Strategy
